I have been wanting to try block printing for quite a while. After following some block printers on social media, I gathered inspiration and with the help of Brendan's CNC machine we were able to collaborate and come up with some fun linoleum stamps.
Although I had done plenty of linocut printing in printmaking classes throughout my University degree, this process was a bit different because instead of carving out the designs entirely by hand, we used the power of the CNC to create very precise graphics... on one level I felt like I had cheated the process in some way, but it is just a different approach than usual. This process allowed me to create more intricate graphics and the handmade look really came out in the actual printing part, when the ink on the fabric ended up looking a bit faded or uneven.
